December 10,2019 Page 9 of 9 <br /> Councilmember Dunsworth reported she attended a cable commission meeting last Thursday <br /> where the group discussed and approved the 2020 budget. She explained the Planning <br /> Commission would be meeting next on Tuesday, December 17th <br /> Graeme Allen <br /> Councilmember Allen reported the EDC did not meet in December and their next scheduled <br /> meeting would be held on Wednesday, January 8th. He thanked the Council and staff for a <br /> great year and wished everyone a Happy New Year. <br /> Mayor Johnson <br /> Mayor Johnson reported she attended the Public Safety Commission meeting on Monday, <br /> December 9th. She explained the Public Safety Department was working on its Santa Cop <br /> program and noted 23 families would be served this year,with a total of 57 children. She <br /> indicated the City of New Brighton was awarded third place for National Night Out. She <br /> congratulated the City and its residents of this great accomplishment. She updated the public <br /> on the process that would be followed for the hiring of a new City Manager. She explained she <br /> attended the Employee Appreciation Breakfast. She thanked all employees for the great work <br /> they do on behalf of the City of New Brighton. She commented on the ice castles that would <br /> be coming to the City and stated they would be completed by the first week of January. She <br /> discussed how she has invited 27 restauranteurs to come together to create a restaurant guide <br /> for the thousands of people that would be visiting the ice castles. She thanked Acting City <br /> Manager Massopust and Finance Director Davitt for the great work they were conducting on <br /> behalf of the City.
