<br /> <br />MINUTES <br />Public Safety Commission <br />November 8, 2021 City Hall <br />Council Chambers 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />I. Call to Order <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Chair Hollimon. <br /> <br />II. Roll Call: <br />Members Present: Commissioners Robert Boyd, Geoff Hollimon, Dan Judd, Stephanie <br />Kitzhaber, Leah Kuipers and Karen Wagner. <br /> <br />Members Absent: Commissioners Amina Ghouse, Ache Wakai, and Jack Winkels. <br /> <br />Also Present: Deputy Director Hamdorf, Director of Community Assets and Development <br />Schlichting, Council Member Graeme Allen and Dave Matteson (Allina Health). <br /> <br />III. Approval of Agenda <br /> <br />Motion by Boyd, seconded by Judd to approve the November 8, 2021 agenda as presented. <br />Motion carried 6-0. <br /> <br />IV. Approval of Minutes <br /> <br />Motion by Kuipers, seconded byBoyd to approve the October 11, 2021 minutes as presented. <br />Motion carried 6-0. <br /> <br />V. Reports and Updates <br /> <br />A. Allina Health – Dave Matteson <br /> <br />Dave Mattson provided the Commission with an update from Allina Health. He explained <br />Allina would not be moving forward with the predictable deployment program due to an <br />increase in response times. He stated New Brighton had a very high call volume for the <br />month of October and mutual aid was used several times. He reviewed the average response <br />time for emergency calls and non-emergency calls. He discussed the notable calls from <br />October with the Commission. He noted COVID numbers were on the rise. He commented <br />on how Allina was dealing with hospital transfers at this time. He was happy to report that he <br />had 15 new paramedics starting with Allina. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />B. Public Safety Update – Deputy Director Hamdorf <br />
