New Brighton Exchange
Development Report

4
2017-Summer 2018

A special thanks is extended to the New Brighton
Lion’s Club and many other private donators who
helped contribute funds to pay the extra-ordinary
costs of the first fully-accessible playground in
New Brighton.
2017 Aerial Photo
(Image: Barr Engineering)

Lion’s Park Playground
(Image: City of New Brighton

Block B Remains Available

Block B, the signature corner site located at the
northwest corner of the intersection of Interstates
694 and 35W, remains available for
redevelopment. The City continues its
professional relationships with Colliers
International and Ryan Companies for brokerage
and redevelopment services, who are collectively
marketing this property to the public. This
property is approximately ten acres in size and will
be faced with environmental challenges to
redevelopment, being the site consists mostly of
dump material. However, under the guidance of
the City’s environmental consultant Barr
Engineering, and under a Minnesota Pollution
Control Agency approved Response Action Plan,
the site can overcome these challenges and be put
to good use. The site has great visibility located
adjacent to the second busiest intersection in the
metropolitan area. This attribute alone should
make the site desirable to many users. While the
site has several competitor sites in the area, the
City believes it is only a matter of time before a
user materializes and the property is redeveloped.
The completion of Block B would mark a huge
accomplishment for the City of New Brighton, who
has been working for nearly 20 years on New
Brighton Exchange.

www.NewBrightonExchange.com

The New Brighton Exchange Development Report is published by the City
of New Brighton.
