Paetznick, Director of Public Safety <br />CITY MANAGER’S APPROVAL: <br />No comments to supplement this report ___ Comments attached ___ <br />Recommendation: Authorize Staff to enter in to an agreement with Pet Central to perform animal <br />care services. <br />Legislative History: February 27, 2018 Council Authorized Staff to Enter in to Agreement with Saint <br />Paul Animal Care and Control <br />Financial Impact: Expenditures will be accommodated through existing budgetary allotments <br />Explanation: On February 16, 2022, staff was notified by Saint Paul Animal Control they <br />issued a 90 day notice of contract cancellation for providing animal care services for found animals. <br />Staff was able to locate a new provider, Pet Central Animal Hospital, who indicated they would enter <br />in to an agreement with the City to provide animal care services including care, storage, and <br />reunification. <br />________________________ <br />Trevor Hamdorf <br />Deputy Director <br />Attachment: Proposed Agreement <br />Report Number: 4 <br />Agenda Section: Consent <br />Report Date: 03/29/22 <br />Council Meeting Date: 04/26/22
