ANIMAL IMPOUND SERVICES AGREEMENT <br />PET CENTRAL ANIMAL HOSPITAL AND <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON, MN POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />It is mutually agreed by and between Pet Central Animal Hospital and the <br />City of New Brighton Police Department as follows: <br />1.Services – Pet Central Animal Hospital shall serve as the impound <br />facility for the City of New Brighton Police Department providing <br />services as follows: <br />a.Pet Central shall receive and care for any small domestic animal <br />brought to it by an authorized City representative. <br />b.If an animal is diseased, dangerous, rabid or exposed to rabies <br />and the animal cannot be impounded without serious risk to the <br />persons attempting to impound the animal, it may be <br />immediately euthanized. <br />c.Impounded animals shall be kept in a suitable, humane manner <br />for a period required by city ordinance (5 business days). <br />d.In the event that any animal is unclaimed after 5 business days <br />it shall become the property of Pet Central Animal Hospital and <br />may be disposed of or sold at its sole discretion. <br />2.Fees – <br />a.If an animal is unclaimed, the City of New Brighton shall pay Pet <br />Central Animal Hospital the charges as agreed on page 2 <br />(service agreement pricing structure) once provided with an <br />itemized invoice. <br />b.Before an animal is reunited to its owner, Pet Central Animal <br />Hospital shall collect the charges from the owner. In most cases, <br />the city will not be charged for a claimed animal. <br />3.Records – Pet Central Animal Hospital will maintain a record of all <br />animals impounded and will comply with all State and Federal laws <br />relating to data privacy and confidentiality. <br />4.Insurance – Pet Central Animal Hospital will maintain at its own <br />expense a general liability insurance policy and written proof of <br />insurance will be provided to the City upon request. <br />5.Nothing contained in this agreement is intended or should be <br />construed as creating the relationship of employer and employee <br />between Pet Central Animal Hospital and the City of New Brighton.
