<br /> <br /> <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />Public Safety Commission <br />April 11, 2022 City Hall <br />Council Chambers 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />I. Call to Order <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Chair Hollimon. <br /> <br />II. Roll Call: <br />Members Present: Commissioners Aisha Ali, Robert Boyd, Geoff Hollimon, Leah Kuipers, <br />Karen Wagner, and Jack Winkels. Also in attendance was Student Commissioner Samuel Strong. <br /> <br />Members Absent: Commissioner Adam Stout. <br /> <br />Also Present: Director Tony Paetznick, DEI Coordinator Mark Suggs, Council Member Graeme <br />Allen and Dave Matteson (Allina Health). <br /> <br />III. Approval of Agenda <br /> <br />Motion by Wagner, seconded by Winkels to approve the April 11, 2022 agenda as presented. <br />Motion carried 6-0. <br /> <br />IV. Approval of Minutes <br /> <br />Motion by Boyd, seconded by Wagner to approve the March 14, 2022 minutes as presented. <br />Motion carried 6-0. <br /> <br />V. Presentations and Business Items <br /> <br />A. Introduction of New Commissioners <br /> <br />Director Paetznick introduced newly appointed Commissioners Aisha Ali and Samuel Strong <br />to the Public Safety Commission. <br /> <br />B. Diversity, Equity and Inclusion – DEI Coordinator Mark Suggs <br /> <br />Director Paetznick stated DEI Coordinator Mark Suggs was in attendance and had a <br />presentation for the Commission. <br /> <br />DEI Coordinator Suggs introduced himself to the Commission and stated he was grateful to <br />be working for the City of New Brighton. He explained he was hired in 2021 as the DEI <br />Coordinator. He described the DEI initiatives that were being pursued by the City stating
