The use of STOP signs on the minor‐street approaches should be considered if engineering judgment indicatesthat a stop is always required because of one or more of the following conditions:1. Thevehicular traffic volumeson the through street or highway exceed6,000 vehicles per day;The volume in this area is well below 1000 vehicles per day (NOT MET)2. Arestricted view existsthat requires road users to stop in order to adequately observe conflicting traffic onthe through street or highway; and/orStaff reviewed the existing site lines as you approach the yield signs and we believe that vegetationlocated outside of the existing ROW does create a restricted view. With the existinggrades/elevations of the adjacent properties, staff is not certain that removing the vegetation wouldbe enough. (MET)3. Crash recordsindicate thatthree or more crashesthat are susceptible to correction by the installation of aSTOP sign have been reported within a12‐month period, orthatfive or moresuch crashes have beenreported within a2‐year period. Such crashes include right‐angle collisions involving road users on theminor‐street approach failing to yield the right‐of‐way to traffic on the through street or highway.3 accidents in 10 years (NOT MET)Would site meet warrants for transition from YIELD to STOP signs?Recent drivers paid no attention to YIELD signs
