<br /> <br />3 <br /> <br />Chair Biedenfeld questioned if the old garage would be demolished. Assistant Director of <br />Community Assets and Development Gozola stated he believed this was the case. <br />The Public Hearing was opened at 6:46 p.m. <br />Brandon Crash, 3401 153rd Northwest in Andover, stated he was the facilities manager at <br />Global Academy. He reported he has been operating out of the existing garage for the last <br />decade. He explained he has moved everything out of the existing garage. He noted it was his <br />understanding the existing garage would be used for staging. <br />Commissioner McQuillan stated he had no concerns with the proposed garage. He understood <br />the neighbors were opposed to vinyl siding. He suggested the building materials and accents be <br />reconsidered. Mr. Crash reported the proposed garage would be a tremendous improvement <br />over the existing garage. He indicated the school has limited resources and noted brick would <br />be out of the budget for this project. <br />Councilmember Allen requested further information regarding drainage. Mr. Crash reported he <br />has spoken with the Rice Creek Watershed District in order to address the drainage on the site. <br />He noted the project does meet the impervious surface requirements. <br />Motion by Commissioner McQuillan, seconded by Commissioner Frischman to close the <br />Public Hearing. <br />Approved 6-0. <br />Commissioner Frischman stated she agreed with the applicant’s representative that the new <br />garage would be a nice improvement over the existing garage. <br />Chair Biedenfeld supported landscaping being provided around the vinyl sided garage. <br />Commissioner Enanaa stated he supported the proposed location for the new garage. <br />Motion by Commissioner Frischman, seconded by Commissioner McQuillan, to recommend <br />the City Council City Council approve the requested special use permit based on the findings <br />of fact listed on pages 12 & 13 of the report subject to the conditions listed on page 13 as may <br />have been amended here tonight. <br />Approved 6-0. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
