Joint Meeting of the City Council and the Economic Development Commission <br />4-4-23 <br />Page 4 <br />Physical Redevelopment <br />≈ 28 meetings included discussions on physical redevelopment opportunities or projects occurring in the <br />community <br />o ≈ 7 meetings specifically focused on development proposals/opportunities on Blocks B and D in the New <br />Brighton Exchange, or on initiatives to promote the New Brighton Exchange <br />o ≈ 8 meetings at which a new TIF project was discussed, or the on-going management of existing TIF <br />districts was reviewed/discussed <br />o ≈ 4 meetings included a focus on the area which ultimately became Midtown Village <br />o ≈ 6 meetings involved providing input on the 2040 Comprehensive Plan or follow up studies related to the <br />Comprehensive Plan (i.e. Vision Silver Lake Road 2040) <br />o ≈ 3 meetings were used to discuss other specific development projects proposed in the City outside of the <br />New Brighton Exchange and Midtown Village <br />EDC MEMBER AREAS OF INTEREST AND EXPERTISE <br />Aligning Council priorities with areas of interest/expertise of Commission members will often times produce the best <br />results. Prior to specifically discussing what should be the Commission’s focal points moving forward, staff will be <br />offering a moment for individual commissioners to talk about the topics they would like the Commission to pursue in <br />the coming years. <br />Jacquie Sauter .................
