ProclamationCITY OF NEW BRIGHTON WHEREAS Office Supervisor Julie Forbord joined the City of New Brighton on May 28, 1996; and WHEREAS Julie is recognized for her effective leadership of the Public Safety professional support staff team, dedicated work ethic, and expansive institutional knowledge, making her the “go-to” person both internally and externally for many issues; and WHEREAS Throughout her career, Julie has undertaken significant organizational advancements, including selection and implementation of police scheduling & payroll software, police records management systems, and her role during construction of the Public Safety Center & ongoing management of daily operations in the modern facility; and WHEREAS Julie received numerous awards in her career, including the 2019 Michael J. Walker Spirit Award, and recognitions from the Minnesota Professional Law Enforcement Assistants Association (PLEAA) and the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office; and WHEREAS Beyond New Brighton, Julie has further advanced the profession in her role as the longtime PLEAA Treasurer and serving on both the project build & operational teams for the Ramsey County shared law enforcement records management system; and WHEREAS Julie will serve her last day with the City of New Brighton on June 1, 2023, leaving to become the Executive Aide for the Minnesota Commissioner of Public Safety; NOW, THEREFORE I, KARI NIEDFELDT-THOMAS, Mayor of The City of New Brighton, Minnesota, in recognition of Julie’s 27 years of service to the citizens of New Brighton, members of Public Safety, and all other City staff, present this proclamation, offering our sincerest congratulations and extending our heartfelt thanks, and do hereby proclaim Julie Forbord a New Brighton City Ambassador.
