<br /> <br /> <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />Parks, Recreation and Environmental Commission <br />June 7, 2023 City Hall <br />Council Chambers 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />I. Call to Order <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Chair O’Rourke. <br /> <br />II. Roll Call: <br />Members Present: Commissioners Pauline Alfors, Gary Bank, Kristin Hicks, Abe McEathron, Julia <br />O’Rourke (Chair), Becky Slabiak, Laura Sokol-Kraft and Zoey Tenenbaum. <br /> <br />Members Absent: Commissioners Maren Hawkins and Michael Spooner. <br /> <br />Also Present: Director Jennifer Fink and Councilmember Pam Axberg (arrived at 7:11 p.m.). <br /> <br />III. Approval of Agenda <br /> <br />Motion by Bank, seconded by McEathron to approve the agenda as presented. Motion carried <br />8-0. <br /> <br />IV. Approval of Minutes <br /> <br />Chair O’Rourke noted she sent three minor corrections to the minutes to staff. <br /> <br />Motion by McEathron, seconded by Hicks to approve the May 3, 2023 minutes as amended. <br />Motion carried 7-0-1 (Commissioner Tenenbaum abstained). <br /> <br />V. Business Items <br /> <br />A. Splash Pad Design – Jennifer Fink, Parks and Recreation Director <br /> <br />Director Fink presented three different responses to the City’s Request for Proposal. These <br />proposals provide a general idea of what would be included and can still be tweaked based <br />on feedback from the Commission, Council, and the neighborhood. She reported the staff <br />goal would be for the PREC Commission to narrow down from three options to one as a <br />recommendation. That recommendation would then be brought to the neighbors for a <br />public informational meeting. She then reviewed the three designs in further detail with the <br />Commission and requested direction on how to proceed. <br />
