<br />New Brighton Energy Action Plan 6 <br /> <br />Energy Costs <br />During an average year, New Brighton spends an estimated $27 million on energy for both electricity <br />and natural gas (Figure 6). Close to half of these costs are being paid by the residential sector, with total <br />annual average energy costs at $12.3 million. A residential premise spends an average of $1,225 <br />annually on electricity and natural gas. The commercial and industrial sector spends the most on energy, <br />averaging $13.7 million annually on energy costs. While costs fluctuate greatly for commercial and <br />industrial premises based on size and industry, on average these premises spend $12,500 annually <br />(Table 1). <br />Figure 4.
