Like total energy consumption, New Brighton’s <br />commercial sector accounts for just over half of energy-related greenhouse gas emissions. Emissions <br />dropped from 2019 to 2020 in all sectors, then increased slightly from 2020 to 2021. <br /> <br /> <br />3 Electricity emissions are calculated using Xcel Energy’s preliminary and certified emissions factors for their Upper <br />Midwest Fuel Mix for 2019, 2020 and 2021. Emissions factors used during the planning process to calculate <br />electricity consumption greenhouse gas emissions may change as Xcel Energy completes third-party verification for <br />its emissions intensities.
