<br />Discussion included: <br />• The Commission appreciated how the BWC footage was being used for training <br />purposes amongst the department. <br />• The cost for the data storage was further discussed. <br />• Deputy Director Hamdorf described how access to cloud storage was managed for <br />security purposes. <br />• The Commission thanked staff for the detailed report on the BWC audit. <br /> <br />VI. Reports and Updates <br /> <br />A. Allina Health – Dave Matteson <br /> <br />Dave Matteson provided the Commission with an update from Allina Health. He reviewed <br />the January through June calls for service and response times with the Commission. He <br />commented on several drug shortages that were impact EMT’s. He reported his employees <br />would be attending strike team training in Mounds View as well as active shooter training at <br />the Blaine High School. He discussed a recent CAD failure and how this impacted response <br />times for his teams. <br /> <br />B. City Council Update – Emily Dunsworth, Councilmember <br /> <br />There was no report. <br /> <br />C. Public Safety Update – Deputy Director Hamdorf <br /> <br />Deputy Director Hamdorf reviewed the calls for service from April. He noted the biggest <br />driver of thefts was fuel drive offs and mitigation steps have been taken to reduce these. The <br />number of traffic stops in the community was discussed, along with the use of force events. It <br />was noted the calls for service in April were consistent with previous years. He provided an <br />update on the shooting that occurred on Father’s Day. He reported National Night Out would <br />be held on Tuesday, August 1. <br /> <br />VII.
