<br /> <br /> <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />Public Safety Commission <br />September 11, 2023 City Hall <br />Council Chambers 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />I. Call to Order <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 6:32 p.m. by Chair Kuipers. <br /> <br />II. Roll Call: <br />Members Present: Commissioners Aisha Ali, Kevin Dostal Dauer, Tom Harkins, Geoff <br />Hollimon, Leah Kuipers, Adam Stout, Roberto Valdizan, and Karen Wagner. <br /> <br />Members Absent: Commissioner Liza Allen. <br /> <br />Also Present: Director Tony Paetznick, Council Member Emily Dunsworth and Dave Matteson <br />(Allina Health). <br /> <br />III. Approval of Agenda <br /> <br />Motion by Harkins, seconded by Hollimon to approve the September 11, 2023 agenda as <br />presented. Motion carried 8-0. <br /> <br />IV. Approval of Minutes <br /> <br />Motion by Wagner, seconded by Hollimon to approve the August 14, 2023 minutes as presented. <br />Motion carried 8-0. <br /> <br />V. Reports and Updates <br /> <br />A. Allina Health – Dave Matteson <br /> <br />Dave Matteson provided the Commission with an update from Allina Health. He reviewed <br />the calls for service along with the response times for the month of August. He commented <br />on the number of direct dial calls that were made in August for nursing homes and noted <br />these calls were addressed directly by Allina and did not require police services. He reported <br />this program was going well. He then discussed the number of mutual aid calls given and <br />received in the northwest metro program each day. He stated his staff was finishing up <br />credentialing. He commented on the scholarships that were available to those studying to be <br />paramedics and EMT’s. <br /> <br /> <br />
