It is <br />reviewed on an annual basis to ensure the document is <br />reflective of current practices, complies with State and Federal <br />requirements, and reflects the dynamic working environment of <br />the City. <br />•Several Minnesota legislative laws were enacted in 2023 making <br />changes to the City of New Brighton Employee Handbook <br />necessary. Revisions were determined by the City Manager, <br />Senior Leadership team, and through legal consultation. <br />•Updates to this version of the City of New Brighton Employee <br />Handbook include: <br />o Separation of the day-to-day policies into a separate, <br />complementary Policy Addendum and IT Handbook so the <br />Employee Handbook focuses on personnel and compliance. <br />o Policies and programs that have been moved to the new <br />addendum are listed on page 6 of the Employee Handbook. <br />Page 6 also includes a list of sections with renumbering and <br />substantive updates. <br />•A summary of the substantive changes: <br />o Section 3 Definitions – New and updated definitions. <br />o Section 12.7 Compensation / Payroll – The Annual Pay Program <br />has been removed from the Handbook due to discontinuation.
