o Section 15 Sick / Funeral Leave – Incorporates new earned sick <br />and safe time state-mandated requirements that go into effect <br />January 1, 2024. <br />o Section 16.10 Other Leaves (Jury Duty, FMLA. Parental, School <br />Activity, Military Request, Unpaid Leave, Voting, and Bone <br />Marrow/Organ Donation) – Language added to further explain <br />terms and use of FMLA, allow early voting leave, and add bone <br />marrow/organ donation per state law. <br />o Section 22. Violence in the workplace / Victims of Violence – <br />Language added to address Weapons at the Workplace (22.5) <br />and Victims of Workplace Violence (22.7) to better support staff. <br />o Section 23 Respectful Workplace - Language added to define <br />Bullying (23.3), include Examples of Bullying Behavior (23.4), <br />address the use of Employee Pronouns (23.7), and update <br />Reporting Violations (23.8). <br />o Section 24 Tobacco, Alcohol, Cannabis, and Drugs – A new <br />2023 law legalizes adult–use cannabis in Minnesota.
