March 12,2024 Page 5 of 6 <br /> Council Business Council Business <br /> None. <br /> Commission Liaison Reports,Announcements and Updates Commission Liaison <br /> Reports, <br /> Announcements and <br /> Devin Massopust Updates <br /> City Manager Massopust reported last week he and the Mayor conducted some <br /> intergovernmental advocacy on behalf of the City of New Brighton at the Capitol. He <br /> reminded the public that the community iftar dinner would be held on Friday, March 15 at 6:30 <br /> p.m. at the St. Anthony Village High School Commons. <br /> Graeme Allen <br /> Councilmember Allen reported the Planning Commission meeting in February was canceled. <br /> He noted the Planning Commission would meet next on March 19. He stated he was looking <br /> forward to attending the community iftar dinner on Friday. <br /> Emily Dunsworth <br /> Councilmember Dunsworth reported the Public Safety Commission for March was canceled. <br /> She noted she was looking forward to attending the community iftar dinner on Friday. <br /> Pam Axberg <br /> Councilmember Axberg reported PREC met on March 6 and discussed the 2024 work plan. <br /> She indicated she would be attending the iftar dinner on Friday. <br /> Abdullahi Abdulle <br /> Councilmember Abdulle reported he would be attending the iftar dinner on Friday as well. He <br /> stated the EDC met on March 6 where the group discussed the accomplishments from 2023 as <br /> well as looking to what will be addressed in 2024. He indicated there were discussions <br /> surrounding monument signs and Brave the BRRR. <br /> Mayor Niedfeldt-Thomas <br /> Mayor Niedfeldt-Thomas congratulated the new City Commissioners that were appointed by <br /> the City Council this evening. She discussed how the new living streets plan would be put in <br /> motion by the 2024 street improvement plan. She thanked the City team for looking for <br /> additional funding support for the living streets plan. She reported she attended a regional <br /> meeting of mayors where ride programs were discussed. She commented on the North Metro <br /> Mayors meeting she attended where local control and the City's zoning authority was <br /> discussed. She encouraged the public to attend the winter market on March 13.
