Di$POsil\e of City P~I\Y <br /> <br />The approval of the City Manager shall be required to dispose, sell or trade any property <br />of the City except that the approval of the City Council shall be required if the original <br />value was at least $10,000. The proceeds from the sale or trade of property shall be <br />credited into the fund which originally acquired the property provided that if the origin is <br />unknown then the credit shall be made into the General Fund. <br /> <br />Once approval has been granted to dispose, sell or trade property, then the following <br />steps shall apply: <br /> <br />A. Public Sale. A notice of public sale shall be published in the official newspaper <br />stating that the City is accepting sealed offen on the property. The notice shall be <br />placed in the newspaper at least ten (10) days prior to the close of offers. The <br />property shall be sold to the party who presents the highest cash offer under the <br />stipulated terms. <br />B. Public Auction. In lieu of item A, the property shall be sold at public auction in <br />accordance with the Municipal Code..C. Nominal value. Where it is determined that any property currently has a nominal <br />value, then the property may be discarded or donated. The determination of the <br />value of property shall be made by the Department Head, subject to review by the <br />City Manager. <br /> <br />Section 14.
