The cost of the <br />tractor is as follows: <br /> <br />Contract #435536, from RDO Equipment Company <br /> <br />Vehicle Price <br />Less Trade in Price <br />Sub-total <br />Sales Tax <br />Total Price of Vehicle <br /> <br />$122,463 <br />$ 8.000 <br />$114,463 <br />$ 7.440 <br />$121,903 <br /> <br />The 2007 replacement cost for this vehicle has been programmed in the Fleet Replacement Fund. <br /> <br />Notes: The acquisition costs may not be the final costs based on trade-in values, sales tax and <br />other added equipment, i.e. City decals will be purchased separately and are estimated to cost <br />$250. <br /> <br />Explanation: The purpose of this item is to obtain Council approval to purchase a new John <br />Deere 710 Tractor / Backhoe for the Public Works Department. This tractor will be used by the <br />Public Works Department for repairing water mains and general materials handling. <br />The new tractor will replace Vehicle #878, a 1987 John Deere 710 Tractor / Backhoe purchased <br />in 1987 which is scheduled to be replaced in 2007. The recommendation is to enter into an <br />agreement with ROO Equipment Company to order a 2006 model and to pay for and take <br />delivery after January I, 2007.
