Safe Routes to School Program (SRTS)
2006 Grant Application Instructions

The 2006 SRTS Grant Application is divided into two parts. The fist document contains the grant
application worksheet to gather basic applicant information. The second document contains the
program introduction, instructions, grant application, and appendices.

.

1. Safe Routes to School 2006 Grant Application Worksheet -
o Protected Word form - SRTS2006AppWrkSht.doc
o Printable Word form ~ SRTS2006AppWrkSht.pdf
2. Minnesota Safe Routes to School Introduction Grant, Application, and Program Basics - 2006
(this document) - SRTS2006AppPac.pdf

Each section of the application form is designed to help you convey as much as possible about your
project by requesting specific project related information. Several sections request a detailed
narrative and it is important for applicants to be concise and limit answers to the page requirements
listed in the sections. A page is 12-point font, single-spaced.

Other sections contain questions that can simply be answered in the space provided. If there are
pictures, maps, exhibits, diagrams, survey summaries, etc. relevant to the application, these materials
must be attached to the application and returned electronically if possible.

When a section does not apply to the proposed project or if data is not available, simply write "DNA'
which stands for "Does Not Apply" beneath the section number.

MnIDOT's goal is to select projects in the most effective way possible, while still providing enough ..
time to thoroughly review each application. As a reminder, the Application due date and award
notification is below:

. July 6, 2006 Applications due to Mn/DOT Central Office by 4:30 PM COT.
.
