Consideration of Resolution Approving Acquisition of Document Imaging <br />System. Report 05-114. Resolution No. 05-046 <br /> <br />Council Member Doffing expressed her opposition to this acquisition, indicating that <br />cheaper options are available and that the proposed project was more of a want than a <br />need. <br /> <br />The City Manager commented on the benefits of utilizing a LaserFiche program for <br />electronically managing public documents. He explained that staff had completed <br />extensive efforts in exploring the best technology for accomplishing the City's objectives <br />and that LaserFische has been the most commonly utilized technology base for many <br />communities implementing document imaging systems. <br />Bruce Johnson, IT Coordinator explained some of the features and benefits of the proposed <br />imaging system. <br />The City Manager indicated that one of the high priorities is to make public documents <br />such as Council reports and information more available to the general public via our web <br />page.
