<br />Page 2 ~ April 12, 2005, New Brighton Council Minutes <br /> <br />Mayor Larson gave an accmIDt of the Cities projects and achievements over the past year. <br />fa. yor Larson expressed his gratitude to The City Council, Municipal staff:. and all the volunteers, <br />ughout the City. <br /> <br />Formal Recognition of New Brighton Department of Public Safety by State of Minnesota <br />Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management. Report No. 05-068. <br /> <br />Director of Public Safety, Bob Jacobson presented Mayor Larson with the Award of Excellence for <br />Outstanding Partnership. Director Jacobson acknowledged several people who were uniquely involved <br />in winning this award: Officer Mitch Singer, Officer Kim Boyd, Sergeant Mary Bi1zan-Hieb, Officer <br />Troy Hyland, Ms. TrenaBlunle, Bruce Johnson, IT Coordinator, Andre Barte, IT Technician, and <br />Deputy Director Dan Olson. <br />Mayor Larson gratefully accepted the award, on behalf of the Council <br /> <br />Colll1cil mernber Doffing expressed her appreciating for Director Jacobson's managenlentof our Public <br />Safety Department <br /> <br />3. Appointments to Municipal Advisory Commissions; Economic Development Commission <br />and Parks, Recreation and Environmental Commissions. Report No. 05-069. <br /> <br />The City Council considered the appointment of two New Brighton residents to fill the <br />unexpired terms of two commission seats. Lisa Harreld (Economic Development <br />Commission) and Mark Barton (Parks Recreation and Environmental Commission) <br /> <br />lotion by Council Member Hoffman, seconded by Council Member Moore-Sykes to <br />. aive the reading and adopt the resolution appointing Mark Barton and Lisa Herrald to the <br />current vacancies on the Parks, Recreation and Environmental Commission and Economic <br />Development Commission. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nays, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Consent Aeenda <br />1.
