Public Hearing to Consider Amending the City Code Section 26-2. Report 05-043. Ordinance No. 725. Mayor Larson opened the Public Hearing The City Planner gave an overview amending Section 26-2 of the City's Code of Ordinances as follows: The provisions of this Chapter are in addition to and not in replacement of the provisions of the existing Building Code and Zoning Code. Any provisions of the Building Code and Zoning Code relating to platting shall remain in full force and effect except as they may be contradictory to the provisions of this Chapter. No subdivision will be approved that causes an existino use or structure to become nonconformina, I and no subdivision of a parcel with existina nonconformina uses or structures will be approved, unless nonconformities are removed or oermitted bv variance or nonconformino use permit. Mayor Larson gave an opportunity for any comments from audience. There were no comments. Motion by Council Member Hoffman, seconded by Council Member Doffing, to give Staff Recommendation to waive the reading and adopt the attached ordinance amendment, amending Section 26-2 of the City's Zoning Code and direct staff to publish the text in The New Brighton Bulletin. 5 Ayes - 0 Nays, Motion Carried 2. Mayor Larson opened the Public Hearing The City Planner gave an overview amending Section 4-490 of the City's Code of Ordinances as follows: laragraPh 5(a): etached garages shall be prohibited.
