<br />RESOLUTION No. <br />06-043 <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> <br />RESOLUTION TO ADOPT THE PARKS, RECREATION, AND TRAILS <br />STRATEGIC PLAN <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the following dates document that the Council and Commissions have <br />authorized the processes needed to complete the Parks, Recreation, and Trails Strategic <br />Plan: <br /> <br />. April 6, 2005 PREC made a motion that the City Council authorizes the Parks, Recreation and trail <br />Strategic Planning Process. <br />. April 12, 2005 City Council authorized the solicitation of proposals for the Parks, Recreation, and <br />Trails Strategic Plan. <br />. June 27, 2005 PREC made a motion to recommend City Council approval of a Professional <br />Services Contract with Ingraham and Associates for the development of the Parks, Recreation, and <br />Trails Strategic Plan. <br />. July 12,2005 City Council approved the professional services contract with Ingraham & <br />Associates for the development of the Parks, Recreation, and Trails Strategic Plan, including <br />public art and youth services strategies. <br />. August 3, 2005 PREC met with Greg Ingraham ofIngraham and Associates. Greg noted all the <br />trends in the Parks and Recreation field. He also gave the Commission an overview of the study. <br />Greg asked the Commission to list strengths and threats they see in the department and to come up <br />with a wish list they would like to see. A draft survey to go to residents was also reviewed and <br />commented on. <br />. September 7, 2005 PREC made a motion to recommend that the Council approve the community <br />survey with the proposed changes. <br />. September 13, 2005 City Council approved the Parks, Recreation, and Trails community survey <br />and authorized the planning team to initiate the survey. <br />. September 20, 2005 Planning Commission had a presentation from Greg Ingraham regarding all <br />components of the Parks, Recreation, and Trails Strategic Plan. <br />. October 5, 2005 PREC supported the public art presentation in relationship to the Parks, <br />Recreation, and Trails Strategic Plan. <br />. October 11,2005 Economic Development Commission supported the public art presentation in <br />relationship to the Parks, Recreation, and Trails Strategic Plan. <br />. February 1,2006 PREC reviewed the Parks, Recreation, and Trail Strategic planning process <br />including community input, vision, mission, and commitment strategies. <br />. March 1,2006 PREC reviewed and made additions to the strategies section of the Parks, <br />Recreation, and Trails Strategic Plan. <br />. March 21, 2006 City Council held a workshop regarding the Parks, Recreation, and Trails <br />Strategic Plan to provide input towards the completion of the plan. <br />. April 5, 2006 PREC completed detailed work on the Parks, Recreation) and Trails Strategic <br />Plan. <br />. May 3, 2006 PREC made a motion that City Council to approve the Parks, Recreation, and Trails <br />Strategic Plan. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the cost and implementation of the plan will need to be incorporated into <br />the long term fmanciaI plan. <br /> <br />I <br />III <br />
