<br />WHEREAS, the Parks, Recreation, and Trails Strategic plan has been in the <br />development stage for nearly one year. This Strategic Plan will guide the New Brighton <br />Parks and Recreation Department for the next 10 years, from 2006 - 2016. This plan is a <br />collaboration of input from Ingraham & Associates, staff and most importantly the <br />residents of New Brighton. The Strategic Plan provides detailed commitments to the <br />City of New Brighton including <br />. Improving Health <br />. Protecting Natural Resources <br />. Fostering Healthy Youth Development <br />. Sustaining Fiscal Responsibility <br />. Supporting Community Reinvestment <br /> <br />The focus areas of the Strategic Plan include <br />. Parks Evaluation Focus Area <br />. Trails & Sidewalk Strategic Plan <br />. Brightwood Hills Golf course Operations and Marketing Strategy <br />. Recreation Program Strategies <br />. Youth Engagement Strategies <br />. Public Art Strategic Plan <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City's Parks Improvement Fund 403 is the recommended funding <br />source for this project.
