OF $31,610 FOR THE 2002 SANITARY <br />SEWER SHORTLINERS REPAIRS. <br />CONSIDERA TION OF RECEIPT OF REPORT ON THE INTERIM FINANCIAL <br />STATEMENTS FOR THE FIRST QUARTER OF 2002. <br /> <br />6. <br /> <br />7. <br /> <br />8. <br /> <br />5 Ayes ~ 0 Nays, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Public Hearing <br /> <br />Consideration of a request to vacate the public alley between Old Hwy 8 NW and 4th A venue <br />South of 8th St. NW. The Council granted site plan approval for construction of a new Public <br />I Safety Center on January 22, 2002. This alley once served several single family homes and the <br />City Fire Station. Presently, the City owns all lots of record adjacent to the alley and all structures <br />on the site have been demolished, and the alley no longer serves a public purpose. <br /> <br />There were no comments from the audience. <br /> <br />Motion by Samuelson, seconded by Sweeley, to CLOSE THE HEARING. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nays, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Hearing was Closed <br /> <br />Motion by Hoffman, seconded by Samuelson, to WAIVE THE READING AND ADOPT THE <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING V A02-001 VACATING THE PUBLIC ALLEY. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nays, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Council Business <br /> <br />Finance Director Dan Maiers presented the revisions to municipal precincts. The State of <br />Minnesota has completed the Legislative redistricting plan as a result of the 2000 census. New <br />Brighton has changed to District 50B and we are no longer a split City. It is proposed the City <br />change to four precincts which will mean we will only need to purchase four machines at a cost of <br />1$5,100 each. The new precincts will take. effect for.the primary in September.
