(The Community Partners with Youth <br />Program is a growing success) <br />Safe and Sober grant received and program implemented <br />Crosswalk safety education and enforcement implemented <br />Sgt. Ed Werneke Officer of the Year for 2000 <br />Smooth transition to Public Safety Department <br />School liaison officers at lrondale and Highview <br />Increased graffiti patrols, enforcement and cleanup <br />Increased traffic calming efforts <br /> <br />In our Community: <br />Continued work with Ordway/Pratt business center at Co. Rd. E2 <br />Daleo Ent.. building being constructed <br />Meadowood Shores opened at Rice Creek Center <br />Salem Baptist Expansion completed <br />Expansion of St. John the Baptist Cathol ic Church underway <br />Expansion of Atonement Lutheran Church <br />Renovation of Pike Lake School <br />Grand opening of new Club House at Brightwood Hills (to be paid for by user fees) <br />Minar Ford remodeling near completion <br />McDonalds reopened their new restaurant <br />Ken's Market/office bldg finished <br />292,296 sq. ft. of redevelopment with a market value of $13,809,760 completed. <br /> <br />In Government Services: <br />Continued work with AMM, LMC, NLC, RCLLG, SRA and NMMA <br />Continued collaboration and leadership with I35W Corridor Coalition <br />Continued work with School District 621, including examination of a potential joint construction project <br />providing for a new District Administration Office in conjunction with long term municipal space needs, <br />especially pertaining to public safety needs. <br />Received another National certificate for excellence in financial reporting <br />Lower insurance rates due to improved fire protection rating <br /> <br />These are some ofthe action items that were addressed in 2000 in our effort to make N B the preferred place to live, <br />work and do business. These actions required the efforts of many people throughout the community and to all of <br />you, 1 applaud you efforts. A job well done! <br />
