The property owners on the lagoon have requested the Rice Creek
Watershed District (RCWD) to excavate accumulated sediment from the lagoon and Rice
Creek channel south ofthe railroad trestle. The existing sediment basin removes the
majority of thc sediment, but very fine material gets carried into the channel. Over the
years, material has filled in the channel and lagoon to the point that navigability is
difficult. The property owners feel that RCWD should be responsible for dredging the
channel and lagoon because the source of the sediment is Rice Creek.

'rhe RCWD Board has agreed to dredge the section of channel and lagoon provided the
property owners pay half the cost of the lagoon dredging plus engineering and incidental
costs. It is proposed that the City special assess the property owners for their share ofthe
costs and pay RCWD.

Consent Al!enda

Vouchers
Report 00-293

Construction Fund 435
Report 00-294
Resolution 00-110

School Resource
Officers
Report 00~295

Tour Fit Lease
Report 00-296

Personal Licensc
Ulrick Neff
Report 00-297

1-694 Sedimentation
Basin
Report 00-298

Bid for Sports Floor
Report 00-299

Public Hearing

Lakebrook Lagoon
Dredging Project 00-9
Report 00-301
Resolution 00-1 ] ]
Resolution 00-112
