Mr. LeFevere agreed to provide the council <br />with documentation. <br />Council Member Bauman questioned the process involved when the City becomes <br />the landlord of the Post Office. <br />David Black explained that there are two separate negations involved with this <br />property, One with the Fee Owner (Dr. Zellickson) and the other with the Post <br />Office., explaining each negotiation possesses separate elements. <br />Mayor Larson stated that he recently met with Representative Betty McCollum, <br />where the increase in price for the Post Office was discussed, and will continue to <br />look into the matter. <br />Council Member Doffmg questioned whether we are corrununicating with Legal <br />Counsel representing Mr. Zellickson? Mr. Fulton stated that Mr. Casserly has <br />spoken frequently and amicably with Mr. Zellickson. <br />Council Member Bauman questioned whether the City has received anything in <br />writing form Dr. Zellickson. <br />Mr. Fulton replied that Mr. Casserly has not received anything from Dr. Zellickson, <br />David Black added that the City hasn't received anything in writing through the <br />whole process from Dr. Zellickson. <br />,Council Member Hoffman stated that this is a critical piece of property as it relates <br />I the redevelopment of the Northwest Quadrant. <br />n addition COlll1cil Member Hoffman stated the responsibility to the citizens of New <br />righton in obtaining a fair price for the property. <br />Council Member Bauman shared her disapproval with the eminent domain <br />process. <br />COlll1cil Member Doffmg questioned the rush in the acquisition because a <br />developer has not been determined yet. <br />Mr. Fulton explained that currently the City is not marketing developers for this <br />site. <br />Council Member Dotfmg stated she still had concerns about condemning a <br />property when the City is not entirely sure of all owners, additionally she would like <br />to review legal analysis provided by the City Attorney. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Doffing, seconded by Council Member Bauman to <br />recommend no condemnation at this time. <br /> <br />Council Member Burg stated it was the responsibility of the council to complete this <br />I" roject. <br />ouncil Member Burg also stated it was her thoughts if Mr. Zellickson was <br />oncerned about the pending eminent domain action, he or his legal counsel would <br />be present at this meeting. <br />
