The City's 1991 Ford Dump truck needs extensive work
and is programmed for replacement in 2000. The March 27th bid opening received no bids
for new vehicles. Because of this, staff located a 1999 used dump truck with snow
equipment at Crysteel Truck Equipment for $41,900.12. This is a considerable savings
over a new 2000 model truck. The purchase price includes sales tax and a $11,000 trade-
in allowance for the 1991 Ford.

Motion by Gunderman, seconded by Hoffman, to APPROVE THE PURCHASE OF A
1999 DEMO TRUCK FROM CRYSTEEL TRUCK EQUIPMENT IN THE
AMOUNT OF $41,900.12 WHICH INCLUDES SALES TAX AND A $11,000
TRADE-IN ALLOWANCE FOR THE 1991 FORD.

4 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried.

Larson added the difficulties when the State requires municipalities to pay sales tax on
purchases which relates to $2,500 in this case.

City Planner Cary Teague presented a special use permit and site plan for Atonement
Lutheran Church, 1980 Silver Lake Road. This project involves the building of a 16,000
sq. ft. addition onto the existing facility which will contain a new kitchen and choir room.
The plan meets the required setbacks, City code, parking standards, and landscaping.

The applicant has been cited by the City for connecting the roof drain into the sanitary
sewer.
