<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS <br /> <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> <br />Pursuant to notice thereof, a regular meeting ofthe New Brighton City Council was held Tuesday, November 23, 1999, <br />at 7:30 p.m. in the municipal building, 803 Old Highway 8 NW. <br /> <br />Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Benke, Councilmembers Gunderman, Larson, Moore-Sykes, and Samuelson. <br /> <br />Absent: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Maurie Anderson, Park and Recreation Director <br />Margaret Egan, Finance Director <br />Matthew Fulton, City Manager <br />Ann Hoffman, Councilmember of the Month and Councilmember Elect <br />Cary Teague, City Planner <br /> <br />Council Agenda <br /> <br />Motion by Gunderman, seconded by Larson, to APPROVE THE COUNCIL AGENDA. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Council Minutes <br /> <br />Motion by Samuelson, seconded by Gunderman, to WAIVE THE READING AND <br />APPROVE THE NOVEMBER 9, 1999, COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Commission Minutes <br /> <br />Mayor Benke, with Council consent, received the minutes ofthe Economic Development <br />Commission - October 12,1999; and Planning Commission - October 19,1999. <br /> <br />Special Order of Business <br /> <br />Finance Director Margaret Egan gave the Oath of Office to Council member Kim Moore- <br />Sykes. Moore-Sykes was elected to the remainder of deceased Councilmember George <br />Gregori's four-term which Ann Hoffman recently vacated. Moore-Sykes' term will expire <br />December 31, 2001. <br /> <br />The 1999-2000 New Brighton Royal Family presented Council with a portrait and <br />introduced themselves: Miss New Brighton Molly Jacobsen, Princesses Brenda Meier and <br />Stacy Schulze, Junior Commodore Michael Obert, Junior Queen Anne Marie Best, Junior <br />Vice Commodore Carson Sanchez, and Junior Princess Alexis Hillbeck. Council thanked <br />the Royal Family for representing New Brighton during their reign. <br /> <br />Egan presented certificates of appreciation to the eight 1999 election volunteers who <br />provided special assistance to the election judges.
