Resources are available within the <br />City's current general fund budget. Council will consider other resource requirements <br />during the budget process which includes the intent to provide 8-10 hours of staffing to <br />support this effort over the long term, <br /> <br />Fulton briefly outlined the components of the Community of Promise Pledge, <br /> <br />Samuelson feels this an excellent way to develop community involvement to focus on <br />youth and this important init.iative, Benke said the City is not going into this venture <br />with the thought of creating a new City driven program, but rather serving as a catalyst <br />to help coordinate activities and invest more wisely in youth programs, <br /> <br />Motion by Gunderman, seconded by Samuelson, to AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR AND <br />MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE COMMUNITY PROMISE PLEDGE ON <br />BEHALF OF THE CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON, AND DIRECT STAFF TO <br />INITIATE THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE INTERGENERATIONAL TASK <br />FORCE TEAM. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried, <br /> <br />Announcements and Updates <br /> <br />Council Business <br /> <br />Community Promise <br />Pledge <br />Report 99-197 <br />Dale/Rodningen <br /> <br />Announcements and <br />Updates <br /> <br />Council thanked all the volunteers and organizations involved in the success of the recent <br />Stockyard Days and Antique Car Run event.
