<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />June 8, 1999 <br /> <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />Special Order of Business. continued <br /> <br />Benke noted support for a fundamental overhaul of the local government aid formula. <br />Chaudhary added the 1999 Legislation Session forecasts a budget surplus and tax reform <br />strategies, Council thanked Chaudhary for his representation over the past year. <br /> <br />Consent Agenda <br /> <br />Motion by Gunderman, seconded by Samuelson, to APPROVE THE CONSENT <br />AGENDA ITEMS AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />CONSOLIDATED VOUCHERS: 083991-084184 FOR A GRAND TOTAL <br />OF $501,021.78. <br /> <br />CONSIDERATION OF APPROVAL TO WAIVE THE READING AND <br />ADOPT THE RESOLUTION AMENDING PL-246 SUBJECT TO THE <br />CONDITIONS OUTLINED IN THE RESOLUTION. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />CONSIDERATION OF APPROVAL FOR EXEMPTION FROM LAWFUL <br />GAMBLING LICENSE FOR NEW BRIGHTON DUCKS UNLIMITED <br />CHAPTER 239 TO HOLD A RAFFLE ON AUGUST 12, 1999. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Public Hearing <br /> <br />Police Chief John Kelley presented a license application for wine, beer, and non- <br />intoxicating malt liquor at the Bru Haus, 1431A Silver Lk, Rd, Applicant, Lynn Barton, <br />proposes to sell wine and beer in conjunction with the restaurant operation. No permit <br />for Sunday sales or exterior rublic space is requested, Meeting notices were sent to <br />affected properties, and notice was placed in the newspaper. No public comment was <br />received, and the background check revealed no reason to deny this request. <br /> <br />Barton does not anticipate changes to the hours of operation, and feels beer and wine <br />will enhance the dinner menu and increase evening patrons. She asked if this license <br />would allow outside tables next summer.
