The annual meeting was held November 4, 1998, to <br />discuss the ongoing lake restoration project. Meeting notices were mailed to the 24 <br />residents who make up the special taxing district established in 1984. <br /> <br />The residents in attendance approved a request for a $1,000 tax levy for 1999 which <br />would increase the fund reserve to $4,131.90. The amount is needed for the replacement <br />of compressor hoses and diffusers, in addition to normal expenses. In accordance with <br />policy, the City would pickup 25% of the $1,000, or $250 from a general tax levy. The <br />remaining 75 % or $750 would be levied against the taxing district consisting of 24 lots. <br /> <br />Motion by Gunderman, seconded by Hoffman, to APPROVAL A GENERAL TAX <br />LEVY IN THE AMOUNT OF $250 AND A SPECIAL TAX LEVY AGAINST THE <br />LAKE DIANE SPECIAL TAXING DISTRICT IN THE AMOUNT OF $750 FOR <br />1999. <br /> <br />4 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Fulton presented the reopener negotiations with the Teamsters Public and Law <br />Enforcement Union Local 320 (Sergeants). The agreement includes a provision for a <br />reopener for health insurance if the 1998 premium increases exceeded 15 %.
