<br />I <br /> <br />COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS <br /> <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> <br />Pursuant to notice thereof, a regular meeting of the New Brighton City Council was held Tuesday, October 27, 1998, <br />at 7:30 p.m. in the municipal building, 803 Old Highway 8 NW. <br /> <br />Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Benke, Councilmembers Gunderman, Hoffman, Larson, and Samuelson. <br /> <br />Absent: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Susan Arntz, Assistant to the City Manager <br />Dave Fridgen, City Sanitarian <br />John Kelley, Police Chief <br />Charlie LeFevere, City Attorney <br />Kevin Locke, Community Development Director <br />Cary Teague, City Planner <br /> <br />Council Agenda <br /> <br />),.);. Report 98-209, Release of Sanitary Sewer Easement and Satisfaction of Mortgage on <br />Village Center Project, was added to the Council Business Agenda. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Motion by Gunderman, seconded by Larson, to APPROVE THE AMENDED <br />COUNCIL AGENDA. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Council Minutes <br /> <br />Motion by Samuelson, seconded by Hoffman, to WAIVE THE READING AND <br />APPROVE THE OCTOBER 13, 1998, COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Commission Minutes <br /> <br />Mayor Benke, with Council consent, received the minutes of the Economic Development <br />Commission - September 8, 1998; Park, Recreation, and Environmental Commission - <br />August 5, 1998; and Planning Commission - September 16, 1998. <br /> <br />Special Order of Business <br /> <br />A representative from Senator Rod Grams presented New Brighton with a certificate from <br />the National Town Watch organization recognizing New Brighton's efforts in the <br />National Night Out program. New Brighton was recognized as 12th in the nation for <br />cities of this size, for its 140 Crime Watch Block Parties held this August.
