The petition requests Council follow through on its resolution of May
1998, to build two courts using the dedicated funding held in escrow for that purpose.
He participated in the original decision made many years ago to build the courts, and has
not heard evidence which would indicate these courts not be built.

Larson requested staff to determine if common ground could be reached between the two
fractions to allow for, at a minimal, the installation of one court.

Benke explained that originally Council acted on the wishes expressed by a petition
requesting installation, however, since then, another petition was received stating a clear
disagreement within the neighborhood. Because the Comprehensive Plan Update
involves the review of park and recreation needs, he feels it is appropriate to discuss this
issue at the February 18, 1999 Task Force meeting. He acknowledged the many years
of frustration for the residents and thanked them for their patience.

Vouchers
Report 98-199

Tri-City Gambling
License
Report 98~200
Resolution 98-097

Project 98-8, Stony
Lake Bid Award
Report 98-201
Resolution 98~098

Comp Plan deadline
exemption
Report 98-202
Resolution 98-099

Special Legislation for
Redevelopment
Report 98-203
Resolution 98-100

Council Business

Silver Oak Tennis
Courts Petition
Report 98-204
