D. <br />Licensed Psychologist #2480 <br />(651) 636-5031 <br /> <br />August 26, 1998 <br /> <br />Mayor and <br />city council <br />City of New Brighton <br />803-5th Ave. N.W. <br />New Brighton, MN 55112 <br /> <br />RE: process at council meeting regarding Minar Ford and McDonald's <br />redevelopment <br /> <br />Dear Mayor Benke and City council Members: <br /> <br />I would like you to know how pleased I was with the process <br />that I feel led to a win-win solution to the traffic problems that <br />exist and will be exacerbated by Minar Ford's redevelopment. <br /> <br />The Minar Ford issues were described and dealt with in a <br />timely and thorough manner and I feel the solutions will improve <br />the traffic conditions now and in the future. <br /> <br />I am pleased that McDonald' swill be able to go ahead on <br />schedule as their redevelopment will definitely add value to the <br />commercial area in which we are officed. <br /> <br />I hope city staff will continue to monitor Minar Ford's <br />compliance with the conditions regarding their misuse of service <br />Drive and 27th Avenue for unloading car carriers and Service Drive <br />for employee parking. These practices are likely already <br />negatively impacting traffic problems at our corner. <br /> <br />A reduction in Minar's loud-speaker noise level would be very <br />welcome as that loud speaker can be heard allover the <br />neighborhood. <br /> <br />The two changes on North Innsbruck Drive, no parking for at <br />least part of the block on both sides and the carving out of .a left <br />turn lane, will certainly help the traffic situation. It may <br />eventually be necessary to widen the street, as discussed, by <br />taking part of McDonald's greenway to provide for a right turn lane <br />and to widen the street to allow more room for left turners to <br />stack and to be passed on the right on the north side of the <br />street. <br /> <br />Again, thank you for listening to our concerns and for <br />crafting a solution which addresses the problems in a timely and <br />forthright manner. <br />
