<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />June 23, 1998 <br /> <br />Page 9 <br /> <br />Council Business. continued <br /> <br />Gunderman asked the reason for the ice cream vendor noise exemption. Kelley <br />explained that in 1988, Council passed a narrow exemption for the use of a manual <br />operated bell for ice cream trucks. Gunderman noted concern that this bell could be a <br />possible safety hazard. Samuelson feels the bell alerts vehicles that children will be <br />crossing the street. <br /> <br />Motion by Samuelson, seconded by Larson, to HOLD AND WAIVE THE FIRST <br />AND SECOND READINGS AND ADOPT AN ORDINANCE AMENDING <br />CHAPTER 17 (NUISANCES) OF THE NEW BRIGHTON CITY CODE; AND <br />AMENDING CHAPTER 29, ARTICLE IV SECTION 29-46 (SNOWMOBILE <br />HOURS OF OPERATION). <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Samuelson thanked the PSC for their work on the ordinance. <br /> <br />Announcements and Updates <br /> <br />Fulton announced that Ramsey County had been awarded federal storm assistance for <br />recent storms. The City will be able to recoup most of its expenses relating to our storm <br />costs, mainly tree pickup expenses. <br /> <br />Hoffman noted that the Comprehensive Task Force reviewed an outline of the <br />Comprehensive Plan, and will meet again on July 16. On July 23, Council and the Task <br />Force will explain the Compo Plan and answer resident questions. <br /> <br />Adiournment <br /> <br />Motion by Larson, seconded by Samuelson, to ADJOURN THE MEETING. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Meeting was adjourned at 9:45 p.m. <br /> <br />7d$~~ <br />Robert J.
