Kelley <br />explained that in 1988, Council passed a narrow exemption for the use of a manual <br />operated bell for ice cream trucks. Gunderman noted concern that this bell could be a <br />possible safety hazard. Samuelson feels the bell alerts vehicles that children will be <br />crossing the street. <br /> <br />Motion by Samuelson, seconded by Larson, to HOLD AND WAIVE THE FIRST <br />AND SECOND READINGS AND ADOPT AN ORDINANCE AMENDING <br />CHAPTER 17 (NUISANCES) OF THE NEW BRIGHTON CITY CODE; AND <br />AMENDING CHAPTER 29, ARTICLE IV SECTION 29-46 (SNOWMOBILE <br />HOURS OF OPERATION). <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Samuelson thanked the PSC for their work on the ordinance. <br /> <br />Announcements and Updates <br /> <br />Fulton announced that Ramsey County had been awarded federal storm assistance for <br />recent storms. The City will be able to recoup most of its expenses relating to our storm <br />costs, mainly tree pickup expenses. <br /> <br />Hoffman noted that the Comprehensive Task Force reviewed an outline of the <br />Comprehensive Plan, and will meet again on July 16.
