<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />October 8, 1996 <br /> <br />Page 13 <br /> <br />Council Business. continu!,':d <br /> <br />Larson asked research to determine if this individual requested a permit years ago. <br />Williams requested a letter from Edward Jones verifying the individual's employment, <br />and noted the need to scrutinize this activity more closely as an obligation to residents. <br /> <br />Motion by Samuelson, seconded by Williams, to TABLE THE REQUEST FOR A <br />PEDDLERS LICENSE BY EDWARD JONES UNTIL FURTHER INFORMATION <br />REGARDING THE APPLICATION IS RECEIVED; REQUEST APPLICANT TO <br />BE PRESENT AT THE OCTOBER 22, 1996, MEETING; AND DIRECT STAFF <br />TO RESEARCH IF THIS INDIVIDUAL SUBMITTED A PREVIOUS <br />APPLICATION. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Announcements and Updates <br /> <br />Jeanetta said power surges caused the recent phone problems. Gunderman requested an <br />update on the performance of the City's satellite offices phone system. <br /> <br />Moore-Sykes thanked Council for opportunity to serve as Councilmember of the Month. <br /> <br />Council Business <br /> <br />Peddlers License <br />Report 96-224A <br /> <br />Announcements and <br />Updates <br /> <br />Phone Problems <br /> <br />Councilmember of the <br />Month <br /> <br />Benke requested a copy of the Minneapolis W ater Works proposal. Larson said there is <br />much concern regarding the number of daily truck trips with this plan, and trucks should Mpls Water Works <br />be discouraged from traveling on Silver Lake Road or other New Brighton roads. Benke <br />said this has also been expressed by Columbia Heights. <br /> <br />On October 16, the City has been invited to tour the TCAAP facility. <br /> <br />Benke noted the need for a voting delegate at the National League Conference. Benke <br />thanked everyone involved in the Olde Town ribbon cutting ceremony.
