<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />May 14, 1996 <br /> <br />Page 5 <br /> <br />Council Business. continued <br /> <br />Motion by Williams, seconded by Samuelson, to TABLE THE PEDDLER'S PERMIT <br />FOR CW MARKETING SERVICES UNTIL MAY 28, 1996; AND REQUEST <br />STAFF OR FURTHER EXPLANATION AND INFORMATION FROM THE <br />APPLICANT AND ASK THE ACTUAL COST OF THE INVESTIGATION AND <br />PRESENT FINDINGS TO COUNCIL ON MAY 28, 1996. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Announcements and Updates <br /> <br />Nick Temali, School District 621, thanked the Council for approving the congregate <br />dining equipment purchases. The grand opening will be June 17. <br /> <br />Falcon Heights will tour New Brighton's Tax Increment Financing Districts on May 28. <br /> <br />Concerning the Harstad Company's remediation of the Innsbruck Park pond, Harstad <br />has found a contractor and work should commence next week. <br /> <br />Williams is on the panel to judge the Association of Metropolitan Municipalities' <br />Innovative City A ward and Peacemaker A ward. He noted the excellent projects <br />submitted and feels New Brighton could implement some of these. <br /> <br />The Municipal Service Study Subcommittee will hold a Council worksession on June 10. <br />Because of the League of Minnesota Cities Conference beginning June 11, Benke <br />suggested rescheduling of the June 11 Council meeting to Monday, June 10. <br /> <br />Motion by Benke, seconded by Williams, to RESCHEDULE THE JUNE 11, 1996, <br />COUNCIL MEETING TO JUNE 10, 1996 AT 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Gunderman requested a resolution be prepared to acknowledge the St. Anthony Middle <br />School's Award of Excellence. <br /> <br />Benke noted the activities scheduled May 23: retirement party for Burt Nygren, AMM <br />annual meeting, District 282 Award of Excellence, and informational meeting on 8th <br />Ave. Reconstruction.
