Relocation of the New <br /> Brighton post office at <br /> Assistant Director of Community Development David Black stated that 1255 Old Highway 8 NW. <br /> Report No. 06-179. <br /> the Post Office has requested the City Council formally approve the letter <br /> of understanding regarding the terms of the Post Office relocation. This <br /> letter will then be sent to Washington. Background information was <br /> provided. <br /> Council Member Bauman stated that this approval does not specify any <br /> specific future location for the Post Office. <br /> Council Member Burg requested clarification regarding the financial; <br /> impact of not moving the Post Office from its current location. <br /> David Black explained the current site would house 80-100 residential <br /> units, resulting in the loss of revenue from that development. <br /> Mr. Black stated there could likely be resistance by developers, to build <br /> C l ear to an older building that is not consistent with the new development <br /> an. <br /> Motion by Council Member Hoffman, seconded by Council Member Burg to <br /> approve the financial terms of the proposal to the United States Post Office (USPS) <br /> as outlined in the August 1, 2006 letter. <br /> <br /> <br /> 5 Ayes - 0 Nays, Motion Carried <br /> <br /> 2.
