<br /> <br /> <br /> Page 4 - August 8, 2006 New Brighton Council Minutes <br /> <br /> Acting City Manager Jeanna Troha expressed her appreciation to staff, and Council <br /> embers for participating in National Night Out activities. <br /> <br /> Council Member Mary Burg - Public Safety Commission <br /> <br /> Council Member Ann Hoffman - Parks, Recreation, and Environmental Commission <br /> The Parks Recreation and Environmental Commission welcomed new Director <br /> Sandy Breuer, also welcomed two new commissioners; Bob Jaskowiak and Mark <br /> Toupal. Old Highway 8 development was discussed extensively with Public Works <br /> Director and Public Safety Commission members. An RFP was approved for <br /> replacement of the pavilion that was burned down at Hanson Park. Compliments <br /> were given to Jason West and the rest of the Parks and recreation team in the <br /> absence of a Director. A compliment was heard from a resident about the City <br /> license bureau for outstanding service received. <br /> <br /> <br /> Council Member Sharon Doffing - Planning Commission <br /> Planning Commission will continue fence hearing at the August meeting. <br /> Council Member Gina Bauman - Economic Development Commission <br /> Economic Development Commission met and discussed redesign of Old Highway 8 <br /> and potential bicycle lanes, recommending no bike lane. <br /> The developers decided the new development will be called Long Lake Landings. An <br /> open house is scheduled September 7th, for which 5000 invitations are being sent out. <br /> st was reported that the Request for Proposals on the east side of the Northwest <br /> Quadrant received one response from Anderson Builders, which represent a medical <br /> device company. <br /> The hotel developers interested in Brighton Village are, working out financing. <br /> <br /> <br /> Mayor Larson <br /> Complimented everybody's effort in a successful National Night Out. <br /> Adjournment <br /> Meeting was adjourned at <br /> 7:05 P.M.. <br /> Adiournment <br /> Motion by Council Member Hoffman, seconded by Council Member Doffing to <br /> adjourn the, meeting. <br /> <br /> 5 Ayes - 0 Nays, Motion Carried <br /> <br /> <br /> Meeting was adjourned at 7:05 P.M. <br /> Steve Larson, Mayor <br /> ATTEST: <br /> <br /> <br /> Daniel A.
