SCHOOL DAYS, ON BRITTANY COURT. <br /> <br />4 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Public Hearinll- 7:35-7:45 p.m.- Assessment Hearing for Project 94-3 (Street <br />Reconstruction Belair Park); and Project 94-4 (Street Reconstruction 7th St. and 23rd <br />Avenue) <br /> <br />Bob Rutherford, Engineering Tech. Supervisor, explained that both projects consist of <br />removal of bituminous surfacing, storm sewer installation, miscellaneous water utility <br />work and sanitary sewer repair, street excavation and grading, aggregate base, <br />concrete curb and gutter, bituminous surfacing, and boulevard repair. Project 94-3 <br />would be paid from a combination of a city-wide tax, street assessments, stormwater <br />utility fund, and general fund. Project 94-4 would be paid from a combination of <br />special assessments and municipal state aid funds. <br /> <br />Project 94-3 involves all or portions of the following streets: 3rd St., 14th Ave., 15th <br />Ave., 16th Ave., Bristol Ave., Canyon Lane, Fairfield Dr., Inca Lane, Kiowa Ave., <br />Sioux Court, Sioux Blvd., Tioga Court, and Tioga Blvd. Project 94-4 involves all or <br />portions of 7th St. and 23rd Ave. <br /> <br />The total cost for Project 94-3 is $963,676.98; and of that amount the City cost would <br />be $705,890.09 and the remaining would be special assessed. The assessment rates <br />are as follows: 25% for street surfacing, 100% of curb costs on streets with no <br />existing curb, 50% of curb costs on streets with existing bituminous curbing, and 25% <br />of removal and replacement costs for existing concrete curb and gutter. Properties <br />are assessed per lot for street, curb and gutter, and storm sewer. There are 323 lots <br />assessed under Project 94-3.
