This is a marginal cost for a good program. <br /> <br />Larson feels the upgrades needed for congregate dining would benefit the rental <br />facilities of the community room for other events. <br /> <br />Motion by Gunderman, seconded by Larson, to DIRECT STAFF TO PROCEED <br />WITH IMPLEMENTATION OF PLANS TO PROVIDE SENIOR SPECIFIC <br />PROGRAM SPACE IN THE FAMILY SERVICE CENTER AND TO AMEND <br />THE 1995 BUDGET TO FUND $39,967 FOR CONSTRUCTION, <br />FURNISHINGS AND EQUIPMENT AND $3,000 FOR PROGRAMMING <br />EXPENSES; AND DIRECT THE CITY MANAGER OR DESIGNEE TO MAKE <br />A PRESENTATION TO THE SCHOOL DISTRICT IN REGARDS TO THE <br />IMPLEMENTATION OF CONGREGATE DINING AT THE FAMILY <br />SERVICE CENTER. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Announcements and Updates <br /> <br />Fulton said the Metropolitan Livabilities Act will impact the entire metropolitan area <br />as it relates to setting goals and plans for housing related activities. New Brighton <br />will be meeting with a Metropolitan Council representative to review the City's action <br />plan and goals, but it appears the City already meets many of the goals. <br /> <br />Gunderman noted the tremendous work performed by the New Brighton Area <br />Historical Society in renovating the depot. The Stockyard Day and Antique Car Run <br />Events will continue throughout the week. <br /> <br />Fulton said several City employees volunteered to paint a 94-year old woman's trim <br />on her house. This is one of many "On Your Turf" activities. <br /> <br />The Northwest Youth and Family fundraiser will be September 14 <br /> <br />.
