<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS <br /> <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> <br />Pursuant to notice thereof, a regular meeting of the New Brighton City Council was held Tuesday, July, 25, 1995, at <br />7:30 p.m. in the municipal building, 803 Fifth Avenue NW. <br /> <br />Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Benke, Councilmembers Gunderman, Larson, and Samuelson. <br /> <br />Absent: <br /> <br />Councilmember Williams <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Matthew Fulton, City Manager <br />Kevin Locke, Community Development Director <br /> <br />Council Agenda <br /> <br />Motion by Gunderman, seconded by Samuelson, to APPROVE THE COUNCIL <br />AGENDA. <br /> <br />4 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Council Minutes <br /> <br />Motion by Samuelson, seconded by Gunderman, to WAIVE THE READING AND <br />APPROVE THE JULY 11, 1995, COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES. <br /> <br />4 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Commission Minutes <br /> <br />Mayor Benke, with Council consent, received the minutes of the Cable Advisory <br />Commission - June 22, 1995; Economic Development Commission - June 13, 1995; <br />Housing Committee - June 20, 1995; and Planning Commission - June 20, 1995. <br /> <br />Special Order of Business <br /> <br />A Girl Scout presented the Girl Scout Citizenship Patch which was designed by New <br />Brighton Girl Scouts, and will serve as a "Header Patch" for special community <br />service awards exclusive to New Brighton. The Scouts will wear the patch proudly. <br /> <br />Benke commended the Scouts and asked that the patch be displayed at City Hall. <br /> <br />Samuelson asked the significance of the colors in the patch. Carol Carlson, Scout <br />Leader, explained that the five colors represent the Five Worlds of Interest which the <br />scouts complete projects within each of these worlds. <br /> <br />Wayne Simoneau, former 52A State Legislator, announced his appointment as <br />Deputy Commissioner of Employee Relations which required resignation from his <br />legislature seat.
