<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS <br /> <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> <br />Pursuant to notice thereof, a regular meeting of the New Brighton City Council was held Tuesday, April 25, 1995, at 7:30 <br />p.m. in the municipal building, 803 Fifth Avenue NW. <br /> <br />Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Benke, Councilmembers Gunderman, Larson, Samuelson and Williams. <br /> <br />Absent: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Maurie Anderson, Park and Recreation Director <br />Margaret Egan, Finance Director <br />Matthew Fulton, City Manager <br />Mark Herrick, Engineering Aide IV <br />Charlie LeFevere, City Attorney <br />Erny Mattila, City Planner <br />Les Proper, City Engineer <br />Bob Rutherford, Sr. Eng. Tech.lSupv. <br /> <br />Council A~enda <br /> <br />Motion by Gunderman, seconded by Larson, to APPROVE THE COUNCIL <br />AGENDA. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Council Minutes <br /> <br />Motion by Williams, seconded by Samuelson, to WAIVE THE READING AND <br />APPROVE THE APRIL 11, 1995, COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Commission Minutes <br /> <br />Mayor Benke, with Council consent, received the minutes of the Economic <br />Development Commission - February 14, 1995; Park, Recreation, and Environmental <br />Commission - March 1, 1995; Planning Commission - February 21, 1995; and Public <br />Safety Commission - February 1, 1995. <br /> <br />Williams feels Commission minutes should be forwarded more quickly to Council. <br />Benke said minutes are approved at subsequent commission meetings, however, <br />Council could review a draft before commission approval. Fulton noted that during <br />the transition of the Family Service Center, the Park Board minutes were delayed, but <br />staff will get the minutes to Council in a quicker timeframe. Williams said there may <br />exist issues in the minutes which should be addressed in a more timely fashion. <br /> <br />Special Order of Business <br /> <br />Fulton said the Salem Covenant Church has made a donation to the City for the many <br />services provided to them. Benke said the Church recognizes the quick response <br />from Bob Rutherford, Engineering Supv.
