<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS <br /> <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> <br />Pursuant to notice thereof, a regular meeting of the New Brighton City Council was held Tuesday, October 11, 1994, <br />at 7:30 p.m. in the municipal building, 803 Fifth Avenue NW. <br /> <br />Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Benke, Councilmembers Gunderman, Larson, Samuelson and Williams. <br /> <br />Absent: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Maurie Anderson, Park and Recreation Director <br />Matthew Fulton, City Manager <br />Barbara J eanetta, Assistant to the City Manager <br />Erny Mattila, City Planner <br />Les Proper, City Engineer <br />Bob Rutherford, Engineering Technical Supervisor <br />Jim Thomson, Acting City Attorney <br /> <br />Council A~enda <br /> <br />Benke noted the addition of a Special Order of Business item, Ramsey County <br />Charter Commission Update. <br /> <br />Motion by Gunderman, seconded by Williams, to APPROVE THE AMENDED <br />COUNCIL AGENDA. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Council Minutes <br /> <br />Motion by Williams, seconded by Larson, to WAIVE THE READING AND <br />APPROVE THE SEPTEMBER 27, 1994, COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Commission Minutes <br /> <br />Mayor Benke, with Council consent, Park Board - September 7, 1994; and Citizen <br />Study Commission - May 25, 1994. <br /> <br />Snecial Order of Business <br /> <br />Motion by Benke, seconded by Larson, to WAIVE THE READING AND ADOPT <br />THE RESOLUTION ACCEPTING A DONATION FROM THE BOOTS <br />SUTTON MEMORIAL MEN'S LEAGUE. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Dana Rebelein, Ramsey County Charter Commission Chair, presented an update on <br />Charter Commission activities. Ramsey County is the only county in Minnesota to <br />have a charter form of government. This provides that the County receive most of <br />its authority and delegated powers from the voters of Ramsey County.
