The
narrow median was the preferred option for this segment because it required less
widening than a left-turn lane section. However, residents in attendance noted more
concern regarding the ability to make left turns out of their driveways than the road
width. Based on the petition and resident comments, Council ordered a report be
prepared to address elimination of the raised median.

Jr.

Proper confirmed that the ability to make left turns by all homes with driveways on
Silver Lake Road could be provided with a center left turn lane section. He noted
that this option was considered previously, but was rejected due to the feedback
received from residents regarding the greater width requirements and resultant loss
of frontyards.

The revised plan shows a center left turn lane for the entire distance except at the
intersections where there is a narrow 4 ft. wide concrete median. One home on the
southeast comer at 7th St. and Silver Lake Road would not have access due to its
location to the intersection. However, this lack of access has been evident for
sometime, and the home's turnaround driveway off Forestdale provides that access.

Consent Allenda I
Vouchers
Report 94-117
Reapportionment of
Assessments
Report 94-118
Resolution 94-060
Resolution 94..()61
Resolution 94-062
Resolution 94-063
Change Order for
IP /92-8
Report 94-119
Firemen's Relief
Annual Report
Report 94-120
Council Business I
Silver Lake Road -
5th & 7th St. ROW
Changes
Report 94-122

I
