<br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />April 26, 1994 <br /> <br />Page 6 <br /> <br />Council Business <br /> <br />Williams noted that the Irondale Math Team for the past three years have been one <br />of the top three teams in the Minnesota Statement Math League Tournament. These <br />members noted in a recent newspaper article that they feel they have not been <br />appropriately recognized for this award. He feels this type of academic <br />accomplishment should be recognized in a similar manner as sport accomplishments. <br /> <br />Benke noted that the City does sent congratulations to Irondale and Mounds View <br />students during graduation. He agrees that non-athletic accomplishments should be <br />honored. <br /> <br />Motion by Benke, seconded by Williams, to DIRECT THE MAYOR AND CITY <br />MANAGER TO PREPARE AND COMMUNICATE APPROPRIATE LEITER <br />OF COMMENDATION TO TIlE IRONDALE MAlH TEAM MEMBERS. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Larson requested that the Cbampps Liquor License Transfer be moved to Council <br />Business because a Champps representative has requested to speak. <br /> <br />The Champps representative confirmed that the restaurant will retain its same <br />management style and the request was made because of a partnership change. He <br />thanked the City and Council for their support these past years. <br /> <br />Benke feels that Champps has been an excellent business and community member. <br /> <br />Motion by Larson, seconded by Williams, to TRANSFER THE ON-SALE <br />INTOXICATING LIQUOR LICENSE AT 2397 PALMER DRIVE FROM NEW <br />BRIGHTON RFSTAURANT CORPORATION TO CHAMPPS <br />DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION EFFECTIVE MAY 1, 1994. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried. <br /> <br />Benke noted that Council will recess after the meeting to an Executive Session to <br />discuss the Oak Grove Landfill Legal Actions. <br /> <br />Announcements and U1>dates <br /> <br />Ramsey County is researching the City's concerns regarding the Silver Lake Road <br />Trail Crossing issue. Fulton will keep the Council updated on the issue. <br /> <br />The County and City is continuing its work regarding the Main Event street <br />vacation. Staff will keep the Council updated on the process. <br /> <br />The League of Minnesota Cities will hold their legislative reviews in May.
